been doing some tests for my animation, still need to get the green light to properly proceed but i have created a dog model that is fairly low poly at the moment, most likely my animation will not need a high poly model. I have started experimenting with creating fur and attaching it to the model and exploring the dynamics of gravity, dampness, wind and object force for example if a fast moving object flies by the fur, it will creating a force of wind which moves the hairs!
here are some images of my model and the really basic joint system i used to test the mesh of the model to make sure it can properly bind and look nice, am working on creating a complete quad rig with flexi spine and joints around the hips and haunches to better create a realistic movement of the dog!
