Shot 2 - Living among these trees is the Koala one of only three animals that can survive off a diet of Eucalyptus leaves. Shot 3 - Koalas consume 200 to 500 grams of Eucalyptus leaves each and sleep for 22 hours a day. Shot 4 - Koalas are one of the most iconic Australian animals; yet they are rapidly slipping toward extinction. Shot 5 - In New South Wales and Queensland Koalas are listed as vulnerable to extinction. Shot -6- One of the largest threats to Koalas is deforestation. Shot 7 - Koalas entire lives depend on the availability of Eucalyptus trees, as deforestation of the Eucalypt forests occurs, Koalas are losing their homes and food source. Shot 8 - Without a large availability of Eucalyptus trees, Koalas are stranded without any chance of survival. Shot 9 - Deforestation is destroying the lives of every Koala in Australia. Shot 10 - If deforestation of eucalyptus trees was stopped, Koalas would be able to survive, leaving Australia’s cutest animal to thrive for future generations to see.
